Book Tour for Coming Home by MJ O'Shea (Promo Post)

For the second day in a row we have another great m/m book to talk about.  Courtesy of Princess Promotions I'm bringing you author MJ O'Shea talking about her favorite books of all time as well as giving a glimpse into her new release, Coming Home.  So let's learn about MJ's favorite books...........

MJ's Top 5 books

So, hey, I'm a writer, right? Why not talk about books. All writers love to read...and if they don't, well, enough said. I've been reading and amassing books since I was a little kid and I had a giant Bernstein Bears and Dr. Seuss tower that I brought over to my parents bedroom every night for story time. Seriously, my mom says sometimes she couldn't even see my face.

The love has gone on, and four overflowing bookshelves later I've decided on some favorites:) For the record, I'm going to stay far, far away from naming M/M favorites. I do have some that I desperately love, but I'm not going to put them on this list. So in no order, than that which I thought of them…. My favorite books.............

1. Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card

I really, really love sci-fi when it's done right, and in my opinion, this one totally is! I love the twist at the end, which maybe I'm oblivious but it shocked the hell out of me. I love the brutality of the children and how well it's portrayed. I think it's written brilliantly. I've read the sequels and spinoffs. Those were good too but for me the first one was by far the best:)

2. Stardust - Neil Gaiman

It's not a secret that I'm a huge fan of Neil Gaiman. I just picked this book because it's so much fun. I love how he always explores the magical world hidden by some small barrier, and how once you are sucked into that world it's nearly impossible to escape again. It's one of my favorite themes. I also love his collection of shorts called Smoke and Mirrors. I've read through that so many times the cover is practically falling off.

3. The Giver - Lois Lowry

Another mind blower. You can take it at face value and it's still an amazing story, but the more you think about it, the less obvious it is what really happened. I used to read this with my middle school students every year. I'd get some of the most creative theories. It was amazing!

4. Order of the Phoenix - J.K. Rowling

I love Harry:) This one out of all of them has to be my favorite. I like all the drama and I loooove Fred and George's triumphant exit. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

5. Remembrance - Jude Deveraux

In a way, this one has nothing to do with my usual fantasy/sci-fi love, but it does at the same time. The characters are flung into this awesome adventure through time and past lives. I haven't been a big fan of hers all around, but this book? Amazing...and it even has a character named Tally:) Which I totally used for inspiration.

Dead broke and newly homeless, Tallis Carrington is on the walk of shame to end all walks of shame. Back to Rock Bay, where he’d once ruled as high school aristocracy with his band of jocks, and tormented a freshman named James Barry. Until a scandal reduced his family's name to little better than a curse word. He needs a job, and fast, so he can put the town in his rearview mirror once again. But the people of Rock Bay haven’t forgotten him, or the kid he used to be.

The only person in town willing to overlook his less than stellar reputation is Lex, the new coffee shop owner, who seems to despise Tally based on his reputation alone. Tally is desperate, so he takes the job, not understanding Lex’s hot and cold routine until he discovers that his gorgeous boss isn’t the newcomer he thought, but the very same kid he used to torture in school. Now he’ll pull out all the stops to prove he was never really the jerk everyone thought him to be. And if he can win Lex’s heart, the rest of the town should be a piece of coffee cake.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

M.J. O'Shea has been writing romance since algebra class in sixth grade (when most of her stories starred her and Leonardo DiCaprio). When she's not writing, she loves listening to nearly all types of music, painting, reading great authors, and on those elusive sunny days in the Pacific Northwest, she loves driving on the freeway with her windows rolled down and her stereo on high.
